Did you have fun in our Beginner's Soap Making Workshop?
Now that you know the methodology, tips and tricks for making soap in your own home, why not make another batch?
You can create your own recipe with the oils found in your own pantry or supermarket (be sure to run your recipe through a lye calculator) or you can simply buy a bottle of the same oil blend used in our workshops and kits, packed in a convenient 900g bottle. Be sure the remove the cap before heating.
Our soap oil blend contains Coconut oil, Olive oil, Sunflower oil, Castor oil and Shea butter for a luxurious, moisturizing soap bar with a medium lather. We love the soap that this blend produces, and thousands of past workshop participants agree!
You will require all the regular soap-making equipment listed in our workshop handout, not forgetting safety gear, plus 129g sodium hydroxide, 340ml distilled water, 15 to 20g essential or fragrance oil, and your choice of colours. Cut your soap loaf into bars after a few days, and then let them cure in a well-ventilated room for at least three to four weeks.
